Group B Homologation Special: 1984 Peugeot 205 Turbo 16
This 1984 Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 (VIN VF3741R76E5100189) is one of 200 Group B homologation street cars built, and is said to have remained with its original Belgian owner for nearly 30 years. Now in the US, the car is said to show very few signs of use, with an odometer displaying just under 50k kilometers. These cars dominated Group B’s final two years, clinching both Driver’s and Constructor’s Championships in 1985 and ’86, and along with the Lancia 037 Stradale, RS200 and a small handful of similar Killer B homologation specials, remain among the absolute coolest and most desirable machines of the era. Find this one here on eBay for $285k OBO.
Low-Key Canyon Carver: 1969 Volvo 144
This 1969 Volvo 144 retains a largely stock look inside and out, but its lowered ride height hints at extensive suspension upgrades beneath. Described by the seller and claimed-third owner as a “four-door street carver,” condition looks nice throughout, and the previous keeper is said to have rebuilt the engine with a high-compression head and re-profiled cam. Everything is said to be in working order, and the ad lists quite a bit of recent work including a rebuilt steering box, brake booster, a replaced thermostat and more. Find it here on Craigslist in San Francisco, California for $8,900.
Good in Green: 1969 Mercedes-Benz 300SEL 6.3
This 1969 Mercedes-Benz 300SEL 6.3 (chassis 10901812001181) is described as an excellent, well-maintained driver with two previous owners, 115k miles, and a recent service that included new air springs, brakes, tires and more. Further claimed to be rust free underneath, this example wears decent cosmetics including an older respray in its original, attractive dark green, however seats are tired and could use attention for the car to be its best. Find it here on eBay in Jacksonville, Florida for $29,500 OBO.
One of 26: Restored 1955 BMW 502 V8 Coupe
This 1955 BMW 502 V8 is said to be one of only 26 originally produced, and is further described as fully restored and fresh out of a collection where it shared space with a 501, a 327 and 328. Photos highlight what appears to be excellent condition, and this silver on dark red color suits the big pillarless coupe beautifully. Find it here at Vintage & Prestige Classic Cars in Grays, Essex, England for 350k GBP ($~437k USD today). Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
