"Bring another 6.9 engine. They aren't fast and they don't have 900lb-ft of torque but they are (typically) dead reliable and get better mileage than anything comparably equipped today. No DEF, no high pressure fuel injectors that cost a fortune, no emissions BS. I'm curious as to what the story is on the engine. These typically last until the body rusts off and then some more. Mine has a low 250,000 miles and I regularly get 18, can see an honest 20mpg if driven conservatively."
