This 1992 Mazda Autozam AZ-1 is the second we've featured, but is the first offered for sale Stateside. A real pocket supercar, the AZ-1 packed gullwing doors, composite body panels, sophisticated handling, and a mid-mounted turbo three cylinder into a package roughly the size and shape of a large door stop-anyone over 5'10" or so is just plain out of luck. Find this example here on eBay in San Diego, California.
8/25/2013 Update: This Audi 50 is once again on offer, this time here on Craigslistin St. Louis, Missouri for $16,500. The owner of two months says he is leaving for an overseas assignment and can't take it with him.
From 6/18/2013:
This 1977 Audi 50 GLS is the product of a serious overhaul performed on the yellow car that we featured here on BaT back in 2011. When the seller says it is the only one in the USA, we immediately thought of the yellow one... turns out it is the same car that he has built into something totally different. That paint looks unbelievable. Find it here on VWVortex in New York for $15k. Special thanks to BaT reader Nic B. for this submission!
This 1982 Subaru Brat DL features a four speed overdrive transmission and is claimed to have acquired just 60,366 miles from new. Though the 1982-redesigned front fascia and interior lack some of the charm of the earlier models, we can't help but fall for screaming 80s stripes and overall demeanor of this particular example. Find it here on eBay in Shawsville, Virginia.
