This 1963 Jaguar E-Type combines elegant Series 1 coupe bodywork with upgraded drivetrain and suspension componentry, making for a best-of-both-worlds driving experience. Following a similar path taken by other Jaguar restomodders such as Eagle in the UK, it now offers five forward gears, big discs, and a custom-built, injected 4.2 pushing out in excess of 300 HP-not to mention a whole host of other improvements detailed below. Find it offered here at Automotive Restorations Incorporated in Stratford, Connecticut for $89k.
Built by a young engineering student in 1958, this custom uses a Ford frame and 283 Corvette motor, hence the name "Forvette". Reportedly shown at the 1959 Kansas City Autorama, then raced extensively throughout the Midwest, it later spent 40 years tucked away in a garage before being restored to the condition shown here. Specials are frequently mixed bags, but this one looks like our kind of fairground ride. Find it offered here on eBay out of Tucson, Arizona with a $180k BIN.
