Bring a Trailer Daily Mail

This 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Special Edition (chassis JS29N08202665) was purchased by the seller 15 years ago and is a factory Plum Crazy (code FC7) and 383/727 car with a non-matching engine. He drove it and showed it for several years, locally and at Carlisle and the like, and about 11 years decided to start a complete restoration on the body/paint. He removed the interior and got it ready for the body shop. And then he had a baby... so it sat. And then he got divorced.. and remarried.. and had another baby.. and another. And now he's moving, and is faced with the reality of a project that has been under a cover in the garage for 11 years. The sale includes 2 interiors and all the parts he has amassed as outlined below. The car hasn't been started in 10 years, but did run fine at that point. It is now available in New Jersey for $16k.

This 1990 BMW Z1 (chassis WBABA91050AL03825) is the third example on US soil we've featured. It's fully legal up to 2,500 miles per year on a DOT "Show Car Exemption", which we're really happy to finally see photographed and included as part of a listing. In two more years it can run as many miles as you want. Aside from their novel doors, these are spectacular driving little roadsters, and this one has low mileage and a hardtop as well. Find it here on eBay in Anaheim, California for $45k OBO.

7/12/2008 Update: Over five years later, this Cortina is once again on offer, now listed as a 1967 Deluxe 1500. When we featured it in 2008, a BaT reader in New York scooped it up. He traded it a while back for a car that was eventually a BaT Exclusive. Our white BaT Exclusive GT just sold yesterday at the full $14,500, so the Cortina market has moved considerably since 2008, but is still a deal compared to Alfas. Now this one is very well presented and on offer here on eBay in New Jersey. Special thanks to BaT reader Ken A. for this update!

7/12/2008 Update:

We've heard from several readers in the comments section that this car sold very quickly. We are not surprised, it was a very fair price. Stay tuned to BaT for more great finds!

From 7/7/2008:

This '66 Cortina wagon is in very good shape and supposedly lived most of its life in California. It has a very original body and a 1500GT engine with factory Weber carburetor. Find it here on Craigslist out of remote Brookings, Oregon for $6500. Special thanks to BaT reader Mark S. for this submission!

Detroit Elegance: 1962 Cadillac Coupe DeVille

This 1962 Cadillac Coupe DeVille is said to be mostly original apart from a good quality respray in the original color, and it looks to be in excellent shape. Mileage is given as just under 48,000, an entirely believable number. It's said to be entirely rust-free and 100% functional, right down to the Autronic Eye automatic headlight dimmer. This is our favorite Caddy year at the moment, and once it is pointed out you can't take your eyes off that lower fin behind the rear wheels. Find it here on eBay in Syracuse, New York.

This 1988 Lamborghini Countach is a non-running project with a stripped interior but original engine and transmission intact. The seller says that the interior was removed for replacement, but it was never completed, and that the car has some 25th Anniversary components. It is unusual to find a genuine Countach in this condition, and the dash spaghetti photo is the scariest thing we will see this week. Find it in Long Island, New York for $55k. Special thanks to BaT reader Mike G. for this submission!

This 1971 AMC Javelin AMX (chassis A1M798P257545) is one of only 2054 built that year, and has recently undergone a large list of cosmetic and mechanical restoration work. We love the factory Tic Toc Tach and the stripe scheme, and the seller has the car sitting just right on custom widened steel wheels. We usually like the early Javelins better, but with this wheel/tire combo and ride height those wild front fenders really look good. This exact color combo was used on the AMX brochure that year. Find it here on eBay in Costa Mesa, California with a $24,750 BIN.
