Not An Alpine: 1972 Jidé 1600S
This 1972 Jidé 1600 S is one of only approximately 130 cars ever made. Designed by Jacques Durand and inspired by the GT40, these cars were considered Alpine competitors despite being priced much higher than their similar compatriots. Campaigned extensively throughout Europe, the marque's most memorable win came at the 1972 Rallye du Poitou with Jean Ragnotti at the wheel. This particular example is speculated to be the best left, having recently undergone a complete professional restoration. Find it here at Classic Driver via Autodrome in Paris, France for 90k Euros (~$118,500). Click here to read more... |
Rosso Delete: 1958 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint
This 1958 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint (chassis AR1493*06979) is said to be a fantastic driving, matching numbers car with good, solid cosmetics. Grigio suits it beautifully, and we love these in red but other colors are always refreshing to see. It looks very clean underneath, and if it isn't original it's been restored to a nice standard. These cars drive very well in stock form, and making some stealth or reversible engine mods on a Normale gets you in the game much cheaper than with the pricey Veloces. Find it here at Driver Source in Houston, Texas for $54,500. Click here to read more... |
Be Like Parnelli: 1969 Ford Bronco Big Oly Tribute
This 1969 Bronco has been Baja prepped and visually converted into a convincing replica of "Big Oly", a wild custom race truck built by Parnelli Jones and Bill Stroppe in the late sixties. The original was a game changer, its 1970 unveiling quickly ushering in the era of purpose-built tube frame Baja trucks that continues today. This one is more of an aesthetic tribute than a full-on, exacting replica, but that didn't stop it from fooling Mr. Jones according to the seller! Find it here on eBay in Littleton, Colorado with reserve not met. Click here to read more... | Also new on Bring a Trailer:
