This 1990 Ruf CTR 4 (chassis WP0AB2961LS451416) is a Carrera 4 based, 550 HP monster with just under 26k miles from new. Said to be one of only two AWD CTR's built, it exudes a strong track vibe with its plain white paint, shaved drip rails, and no nonsense, fully caged cabin. The Kevlar body panels and wide body kit this example wears are more subdued than on many Ruf models, and though you could hardly call a whale tail 911 stealthy, it's definitely a bit less conspicuous than the archetypal Yellow Bird CTR. 9/10/2013 Update: This sports racer was brought to California and has raced at the Monterey Historics, Sonoma Historics, and Coronado Speed Festival. The current seller has done a great job building out a website at VAYSpecial.com to document the car. Mr Leno also makes an appearance, and the car was featured on the cover of Vintage Racecar Magazine here. Find it here on the VARA Classifieds in Sacramento, California with a recently reduced price of $35k. Special thanks to BaT reader Edward D. for this submission! Click here to read more... |
This 1957 BMW 503 (chassis 69159) is said to be a barn find that had the engine disassembled about 15 years ago, and then was abandoned. It seems that the car is substantially complete, which is fortunate considering the remarkably low production of these early V8 coupes. If the powerplant can be sorted, the rest of the work seems straightforward. This is a challenging project, with great potential. The Hagerty Guide below calls it a $165k car when in #1 condition. Find it here on eBay in Domont, Val-d'Oise, France. Click here to read more... | Also new on Bring a Trailer:
