Birth of a Legend: 1961 Chaprarral 1 No. 003 This 1961 Chaparral 1 (chassis 003) is the second delivered to Jim Hall by Troutman and Barnes, and has a rich and wonderful history including a 1st in class finish at the 1962 12 Hours of Sebring and an outright win in that year's Road America 500 at Elkhart Lake. Over the course of a decade it was beautifully restored with painstaking attention to historical accuracy in construction methods and detail, and is now offered here by RM Auctions who will oversee its auction at The Biltmore Resort in Phoenix, Arizona on January 17th, 2014.
