This 1973 VW Type 181 Thing (chassis 1832841011) has been with the current third owner for over 11 years. It's described as a cared for, mechanically sorted driver with many tasteful and functional upgrades, particularly a specialized engine built by the famed, departed ?Boston Bob" Donalds. The seller freely admits there are several cosmetic defaults, and details them in the flickr gallery link below, but adds that this Thing has been built to drive and retains much of its original orange paint. A 4,800 mile, coast-to-coast trip in 2007 is said to have gone by without a single issue, with another, 10-day Death Valley drive taking place in 2011. An occasional around-town driver since then, it's now available in San Francisco, California for $12,500.

This 1939 Lancia Aprilia was supplied new as a bare chassis to English coachbuilder Newns, who marketed these cabriolets as Eagle Tourers. Exact build figures are unavailable, but only three are known to remain. This particular car comes with good documentation including ownership by Oscar winning British actor Peter Ustinov. It's recently emerged from an unspecified length of time in storage and will require work as a result, but is said to be in largely original, driveable shape as-is. Find it here at European Classic Cars near Swindon, England for 16,995 GBP ($28,213 today).

This 1974 Fiat X1/9 (chassis 128AS0019062) has a long history as a top-flight SCCA autocrosser. The seller has built it into an absolute weapon that fits into two competitive classes depending on the drivetrain fitted. One class (G Prepared) will keep the Fiat engine, running against old British roadsters and newer Honda CRXs. The wilder (X Prepared) class is basically a run-what-you've-brought class, and this Fiat can be equipped with a 240hp Honda mill. Either option is included in this attractive package, which seems a bargain considering the money and time spent. Find it here on eBay in Gardena, California, for $25,000 or offer.
