First off, thanks very much for all the feedback regarding our new BaT Auctions. We have read every comment and email and are always amazed at and thankful for the way the BaT community engages with all aspects of this site. With your feedback as a key driver, we are refining our auction system because we truly feel that enthusiasts deserve a much better alternative to the online and tent auctions that exist today. We always value your feedback, so keep it coming.
We are happy to be back this week with a new group of interesting vehicles, this time all opening at $1 and with a reserve. Many thought that the starting prices of the last auctions were too ambitious, and we found that even fair market starting prices mean minimal or no bidding, so we are excited to roll out our new listings with bidding that will show everyone the true market value of the cars. Sellers are pleased to have a reserve too, so they don't have to give away their pride and joy without a security net. We are glad we tried out the other way, but this just feels right. We've also opened up bidding to the entire 7-day listing duration, which should be less confusing.
Finally, we've heard your concerns that the listings were going too far up-market. Have no fear. This time we have mixed in four listings with reserves under $15k. But at the same time, Mr. Vespa is back to see if the five parties that have contacted us after the last auction wishing to buy the car are ready to pony up. Again, thanks for all the feedback! You can find all the details on these cars here on our BaT Auctions page. Bidding is now open!

This 1961 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite (chassis AN5L47767) sounds like a well kept driver with a careful, 24 year-long owner. It's said to run and drive very well, and the seller backs his claims of it being rust-free with the offer of over 100 detailed photos and an open invitation for personal inspections. Originality isn't mentioned, but it is said that the car was painted in a lighter shade of blue called Bermuda from the factory, though the respray seems to have been done properly. Find it here on eBay in Ardmore, Pennsylvania $16,400 OBO.

This 1954 Cadillac Eldorado convertible was parked in a barn in 1985 and hasn't ran under its own power since. Recently pulled from the barn where it was being kept with a few other Cadillacs kept in a similar state by their original owner, its motor is seized and rust has taken hold in the floors and rear rockers, but is said to be largely corrosion free otherwise including a good frame—definitely a prime restoration candidate. Find it here on eBay in Clarksville, Maryland with no reserve and fast bidding.
