Ex-Spa Classic: 1970 Plymouth Barracuda Vintage Endurance Racer This 1970 Plymouth Barracuda is a veteran of the 2014 Spa Classic and is modeled after a similar car that competed there several times in the mid-seventies. Spec isn't detailed, but the car appears to be running a modern crate Hemi and looks well-prepared, the seller adding that during this year's event it finished 6th and 4th in two separate heats with a best lap time of 2:58:27. Click here to read more...   Current BaT Auction - Ends Wednesday, October 1, 2014 Auctions Success Story: The GTI Buyer Has A Rolls This just in from the buyer of the VW GTI that he won here in a BaT Auction (link): "Hi BaT: I purchased the 1984 VW Rabbit GTI in one of your latest auctions. The seller, John B., was kind enough to post his pictures of the car leaving the Seattle area as a "Success Story" for BaT. I thought it only fair that I continue that with the car arriving here in Newport Beach. Thus, the attached pictures. The first show it moments after it was offloaded on busy PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) near my home in Newport Beach. (Picked up about noon on Monday, delivered about six PM Wednesday - great shipper!) The second shows it in front of my home a few minutes later. You can just see my wife looking in the passenger window saying, "Wow, I don't hate it as much as I thought I would." (From the auction photos, she thought the upholstery was too "loud.") Third photo shows it safely tucked away in my garage next to the 1965 RR which I am using as a shelf as it patiently awaits completion of a brake job I started way too long ago. The seller points out that the car shows decent original paint, and despite a few touch-ups, scratches and thin spots it still looks fantastic.
