Current BaT Auction - Ends Wednesday, December 3, 2014
"Dear BaT, Unfortunately, I was traveling abroad in Holland when the 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT "Tulip Rally" car arrived in Arizona last month. How's that for irony?
I just got around to driving it this past weekend as the weather in AZ was stunningly beautiful. As you might expect, I drove the wheels off the little blue car (as my kids call it) and was pleasantly surprised by how quick and responsive this car is on the road. Edoardo Weber didn't disappoint either. My ears were amply rewarded which profoundly accentuated the sheer driving enjoyment of each mile (or should I say kilometer!).
Once, during a brief fuel stop a gentleman doing the same thing at the adjacent pump complimented me on the car and shouted "old Alfas never die, they just go faster." A wise man, no doubt. I know this will hold true for the bluette coupe, too.
I can't begin to overstate how pleased I am with my purchase from BaT auction # 1, other than to say…that sound…that wheel…WOOOOOAAAAAHHHHHH…AAAAHHHHHHHH….thank you…can I have a cigarette now? Best, Michael S. Scottsdale, AZ
Ps-in case it needs to be said, I am seriously embarrassed that I did not arrange to have someone take a picture when it was being off-loaded from the transporter to submit to you. I've attached a recent pic as a consolation." Click here to read more... |
