BaT Auctions #18: Now Open for Bidding! Yesterday's auction concluded with six strong sales and four cars bidding very close to their reserves. We're happy to report that deals are underway between sellers and high bidders for many of them. This week we have an equally exciting mix, with two Volvo cars and three Volvo engines. We are back to the 7-day cycle with two cars at no reserve. The 1998 Ferrari 355 Challenge has been a successful racer in the hands of the seller who says it is the best prepared example available. A 1987 Porsche 930 Turbo is a two owner car with impressive service history from day one. The 1991 Mercedes-Benz SL60 is an AMG performance car in the best black/black color combo. The 1956 Beck 550 Spyder is a low mile example that is roughly 1% the cost of a real Porsche 550! A 1960 Austin Healey 3000 features a swapped Volvo drivetrain and nice driver level cosmetics. A stalled Mini Clubman VTEC AWD project comes with a huge cache of expensive parts and is being offered at no reserve. The 1973 Volvo 1800ES is a nice driver with refreshed paint and interior. Finally, the 1984 Volvo 24o Pickup is a cool conversion being offered at no reserve. Click here to read more...   Ex-Hylton: Basketcase 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona 426 NASCAR Racer This 1969 Charger Daytona is claimed to be an original Nickels Engineering built NASCAR racer with an interesting and tragic history. Raced by one-time series Rookie of the Year James Hylton during the 1969 and 1970 seasons, the car is sold with the dubious distinction of being the only Daytona involved in a fatal crash when Talmadge Prince suffered a broken neck after being broadsided in it during a 1970 Daytona qualifier. Very rough and extremely rusty, it's sold with compelling evidence of authenticity but will require herculean effort to restore properly.
