Bring a Trailer Daily Mail

Bring a Trailer Auctions

Yesterday saw another strong bidder turnout with triple digit bids placed in the final 24 hours. 4 out of 8 cars sold in regulation and sellers and high bidders have been connected for those that fell short of their reserves. The BMW M635csi had the most comments of any BaT Auction to date (245) and sold to Europe with a strong $29k result.

This week features a great mix of cars representing five different countries of origin and over five decades between build years. We like variety!

The 1994 Porsche 911 RS America is a limited production performance model offered in its original Midnight Blue with just 53k miles from new. A 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is a freshly restored example that is well-documented with a Muncie 4-speed and Positraction rear end. A 1971 Volvo P1800 has been restored with working factory A/C and was formerly the property of ex-Ford CEO Jacques Nasser. The Giannini-tuned 1969 Fiat 124S Eveline is offered out of Switzerland and is an extremely rare Vignale performance model. A 2006 Ariel Atom 2 has just 1387 miles from new and is capable of sub 3 second 0-60 times. The 1975 Cadillac Coupe Deville has 15k original miles and was under long-term ownership from new. A 1973 Volkswagen Thing is an unmodified car restored in its original Sunshine Yellow. Finally, the 1951 Chevrolet 3100 truck is a cool project being sold without reserve.

Stunning Restoration: 1976 Alpina B2

This 1976 Alpina B2 is a rare E12 car said to have been converted in Buchloe when still a brand new BMW 528. Restored to what appears to be a very detailed and expensive standard, the seller provides limited history and no specs but photos are numerous, high resolution and good quality. According to the Alpina Archive, B2's made 230 HP and were good for sub seven second runs to 60 MPH, but regardless of numbers and stats we want to own it badly based on nothing deeper than looks. Find it here at DLS Automobile in Stuttgart, Germany for $92,574 as quoted here on an external site.

1968 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2

This 1968 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 (chassis 11805) features a Jaguar V12 and 5-speed, while the original Colombo V12 and trans appears to have been donated to a Rod Tempero replica as hinted at by location. The swap looks well done and cosmetics are great aside from a few paint chips, while mud residue behind the rear wheels shows that this car is a driver. Of course originality is ideal but an alternative V12 swap is preferable to another SBC, right? Find it here on TradeMe.co.nz in Oamaru, New Zealand for $89,000 NZD (∼$67,978 today). Special thanks to BaT reader Mark J. for this submission!
