Bring a Trailer Daily Mail

This week's auction features a wide range of cool sports cars from the '60s-'90s, including projects, prototypes, and professional builds.

The 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback is a serious restomod with 425-inch stroker power and many expensive performance upgrades. A 1998 BMW M Roadster was a Dinan development prototype that is serial number #001. The 1951 Riley RMD Drophead is a rare early post-war grand tourer that has been professionally restored. A 1989 Porsche 911 Cabriolet was converted to slantnose configuration when new and has just 11k original miles. The 1985 BMW M635CSI has been with the seller for 20 years and is all original. A 1960 Morris Mini Minor is an early LHD Mk1 example that has its original drivetrain and comes with a BMIHT certificate. The 1967 Ford Mustang Convertible is a Shelby GT500 Tribute with a freshly rebuilt 428CI engine. A 1973 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 was upgraded with a Jafco turbo kit in period and is a very clean example finished in its original colors. The 1972 Datsun 240Z is a matching numbers car that is a great basis for restoration. Finally, a 1988 Mazda 323 GTX is a turbo AWD Group A homologation model with just 82k original miles.

This 1959 AC Ace (chassis AEX1035) is a very nice looking LHD example fitted with a 289ci Ford V8 and matching BorgWarner T-5 5-speed transmission. We like the idea of a largely standard-looking AC fitted with Shelby Cobra-style running gear, and think that this one shows much better overall execution than the similarly modified Aceca we recently featured. Find it here at Dutton Garage in Victoria, Australia for $325k AUD (~$246,395 today).

This 1972 De Tomaso Pantera (chassis THPNMR02675) is fresh from a partial restoration that included new paint, interior, a rebuilt motor, trans and more. Though running and drivable, the car remains unfinished with a few cosmetic issues as well as a handful of electrical problems still in need of sorting. These early, pre-L cars are our favorites, and though this one's imperfect, a bit of work could elevate it to something very special. Find it here on eBay in West Palm Beach, Florida with no reserve beyond an unmet $53k opening bid.
