This 1978 Ford Cortina MkIV Ghia is located in Missouri but claimed to be on offer by the second owner who purchased it in Essex, England about eight years ago. Described as original, mileage is quoted as 36k and change, a low figure reflected in how well the car presents in photos. A 2.0 liter Pinto/4-speed equipped car, the rose-colored paint and vinyl top are unmistakably 70's, but its sharp lines, Minilite-style factory steelies and impressive condition are quite nice. Find it here on eBay in Hollister, Missouri with reserve not met.

Similar to the car Petty drove at his first Daytona 500 (where he finished third ahead of his father Lee, as the listing points out), it's retained its original 361ci V8 and matching 3-speed, and though the car looks great throughout we especially dig the hand-painted lettering. Find it here on eBay in Addison, Texas with a $79,988 BIN.

The original build date is unknown, but a nice patina and period equipment suggest its history goes back quite a bit further than 1989—traditional hot rodding's resurgence wouldn't really gather any steam for another five to ten years. Power comes from a '47 Mercury flathead V8 with an Isky cam, twin Strombergs and a few other tricks detailed more below and in the ad. Find it here on Jalopy Journal in Manchester, Connecticut for $36,500 OBO.
