6/18/2015 Update: This 1988 BMW E30 M3 (wbsak0302j2195995) has been extensively modified and fitted with a GTO LS2 V8 and T56 6-speed manual. We featured it back in late 2013 when it was offered on here on eBay, which is surprisingly still live on their site. We loved the originality of the S14 in our M3, but lately find ourselves scanning for engine swapped versions since more power, lower rebuild cost concerns, and cheaper entry price are all good things. This 1948 Allard K1 (chassis 71K655) was ordered new by the nephew of Ken Hutchinson, an early racing partner of Sydney Allard. Apparently, young Arthur Hutchinson had fond memories of watching his uncle's Lincoln V12 powered Allard specials on track, and immediately upon delivery paid to have this car fitted with a similar, brand new flathead twelve. It's changed hands a few times since and is again running a flathead Ford V8, but talk about history--this thing's got it. Find it here on Wirewheel in Vero Beach, Florida for $55,900.
