Parked in 1990: 1970 Porsche 914-6 Project
This 1970 Porsche 914-6 (chassis 9140431380) is offered as a recent “barn find” in complete but tired condition. As a restoration project it’s going to need new floors and possibly more–even the gearstick is rusty, likely indicating an awful lot of moisture build-up over the quarter of a century its remained parked. Find it here on eBay in Millerton, New York with reserve not met.
First to 200MPH: 1949 SoCal Special Streamliner Replica
This custom bodied, mid-engined streamliner was originally built for the first ever Bonneville Nationals in 1949 where it ran up to 193.54 MPH. Next year it’d return to set an impressive 210.92 MPH record, in the process making it the fastest hot rod of the day. Destroyed in 1951 while attempting another record, the car is described as “re-bodied” and looks absolutely amazing in photos. Find it here on eBay in Hanceville, Alabama for $399k OBO. Please Be Real: $25k 1965 Sunbeam Tiger
This 1965 Sunbeam Tiger is claimed to be a legitimate, factory-built Ford V8 powered car and not a converted Alpine. The very low asking price is equally suspicious and intriguing, and the seller says its set up for both track and street use with a 7k RPM 289 underhood. Mongolia Camel Trophy in 1997: Land Rover Discovery
This 1997 Land Rover Discovery is an ex-Swiss team entrant from the same year’s Camel Trophy Mongolia. A left hand drive turbodiesel model, no interior shots are provided but we assume it’s a 5-speed manual truck as well. Sale includes many cool event souvenirs, and the seller adds that it’s just passed the local road worthiness tech inspection.
