Back to the Past: Thrashed DeLorean
This DeLorean DMC12’s year isn’t known and sale does not include a title. The car looks thoroughly thrashed and worn out with many missing parts, but at this price might present a good opportunity for someone with a lot of imagination and an interesting drivetrain lying around. Find it here on Craigslist in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for $4,500 firm. Special thanks to BaT reader Mark . for this submission.
Three Rows and a 455: 1970 Buick Estate
This 1970 Buick Estate is described as a nice survivor, and though originality isn’t specifically touched on the car does look very correct and tidy throughout. A heavily optioned, 455ci V8 powered car, these huge, three row Detroit wagons can be a lot of fun when packed to the windows with camping gear and family, and this one’s condition and price both make a compelling argument for a road trip. Find it here on Craigslist. Special thanks to BaT reader Robert M. for this submission.
Koenig Widebody: 1994 Mercedes Benz 500SL
This 1994 Mercedes Benz 500SL wears a Koenig widebody kit most likely fitted when new or very close to it. The car’s Japanese language ad might be much more informative to a native speaker, but when translated it seems to pose more questions than are answered–what does “even after the purchase in beans of it is a good car” mean? Apparently unmodified apart from cosmetics and a loud exhaust, we think it looks amazing in a totally over-the-top way. Find it here on Enthuno Mori in Tsukuba, Japan for 3.55m JPY (~$28,400 USD today). Special thanks to BaT reader Dr. D. for this submission.
45K Miles: 1983 Volvo 245 GLT Turbo Wagon
This 1983 Volvo 245 GLT (VIN YV1AX4756D1497171) is claimed by the seller to have logged fewer than 45,000 miles from new, having been purchased at an estate sale in 2006 and only driven occasionally since. Further said to be completely stock and in very good mechanical condition, they add that it’s largely free of rust, although the original Redwood Metallic paint shows fading on both hood and roof. Find it here on eBay in Dickerson, Maryland with reserve not met.
