Unusual Street-Spec: 1963 Elva Courier Mk3
8/22/2015 Update: Just over a month since its last update the Elva is back again, this time with no reserve. Still in Pennsylvania, the car looks exactly as it did last time we updated this story in early July, which is to say very good. Now less than 20 miles away from its previous, Craigslist listing location, the car has traveled a long way from Louisiana where it was offered the first time we featured it back in April of 2011. Find it here on eBay in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania with no reserve.
7/8/2015 Update: Over four years later, this Elva is once again for sale, this time in the Northeast. Condition looks largely the same, with different air filters being the only change we can spot in the photos. This is still the only Courier we have ever featured on spoke wheels, and we like the street aesthetic given their usual track look. FInd it here on Craigslist in Main Line, Pennsylvania for $34,995. The vast majority of these Elva Couriers were taken straight to the racetrack, so it is rare to come across one like this that is in full road configuration. This 1963 model has the MGA MKII 1622cc engine and corresponding transmission, but the seller states that it is 400 lbs lighter than an MGA. It is no wonder they were raced with such success. Big Price Cut: VW Engined 1967 Saab Sonett Roadster
8/22/2015 Update: Nearly two years later, this heavily modified 1967 Saab Sonett is back on the market, this time with a price tag cut nearly in half. Like we said last time around, the chop top look isn’t any weirder than the original Trollhattan coupe design, and aircooled VW power slung way out over the front wheels opens the gates to nearly endless tuning possibilities. This 1967 Saab Sonett is the first we’ve seen with the fiberglass top removed. The look isn’t any more weird that the factory design, bu the VW power in this one is a bit unusual. We’d guess that a flat-4 is more tunable than a Ford V4, especially if Jake Raby is consulted. Find it here on eBay in Fort Collins, Colorado with a $9k BIN. Rare LHD Diplomat: 1985 Nissan President Sovereign V8
This 1985 Nissan President Sovereign is a rare (claimed one of 300 ever) LHD variant of the marque’s flagship luxury sedan, originally made for the Japanese embassy in Switzerland. These were hardly sold outside of Japan in any capacity when new, and this is the first we have seen with left side steering. Claimed to be original and unrestored, it shows less than 12k kilometers on the odometer. Find it here on eBay in Bützberg, Switzerland for $48k obo.
Super Low Mileage: 4WD Turbodiesel 1990 Nissan Homy Van
This 1990 Nissan Homy is a JDM turbodiesel/5-speed van that sounds to be in excellent condition. These were offered in a variety of trim levels, and this full luxe, 4WD passenger carrier is heavily optioned with what the seller describes a power everything as well as dual A/C. Said to be fully functional, mileage is listed as only 18k but it’s unclear if this figure represents kilometers or miles. Find it here on Craigslist in Portland, Oregon for $7,950.
