This 1961 Mercedes-Benz 300SL roadster is a matching numbers example with 61k verifiable miles that has been with its enthusiast owner for 23 years. The car has never been offered for public sale, having just two long term owners from new. It’s entire history is known and recorded from day one.
Best in Klasse: Agave 1970 BMW 2800CS Coupe
This 1970 BMW 2800CS (chassis 2270042) wears a very expensive respray in a great factory color and shows well inside and out with some choice mods such as a 5-speed, CSL air dam and more detailed in the ad and below. Shown running well, the seller says rust is extremely limited. Find it here on eBay in Fredericksburg, Virginia with no reserve and fast bidding.
Ejector Seat Included: Real Soviet MiG-21MF Cockpit
This MiG-21MF cockpit was cut from a fully operational aircraft following the Soviet withdrawal from Eastern Europe in the early 1990’s. Said to be in excellent condition, the seller has fabricated what’s said to be a very sturdy, stable and mobile base with locking casters. Though admittedly rather useless from a practical standpoint, we’d love to have it in the corner of the garage and would probably spend a few hours in it a week even after many years. Find it here on eBay in Woodbridge, Virginia with an unmet $6k opening bid and additional reserve.
Ultra Low Mile Il Mostro: 1990 Alfa Romeo SZ in New York
This 1990 Alfa Romeo SZ or Sprint Zagato is one of only about 1,000 made between 1989 and 1991. Based on the 75 and built by Zagato, the famous carrozzeria actually had very little to do with its styling, a job which was largely handled by Robert Opron of Citroen SM and DS restyle fame. This one’s said to be the 18th made with only 3,500 or so kilomaters from new. Find it here on Hemmings in New York City for $119,500. Special thanks to BaT reader Santi S. for this submission.
Small Six: 1988 BMW 520i from Japan
This 1988 BMW 520i (VIN WBADK410002499059) is a described as a single previous owner vehicle imported from Japan with a low 38k miles. It’s very tidy looking with records from new and runs a small two liter six never offered here in the US. We’d prefer a manual, but the automatic is balanced by apparently excellent condition inside and out. Find it here on eBay in Jacksonville, Florida for $12,400 OBO.
