Impressive Hathaway Restoration: 1973 Citroen SM 5-Speed
This 1973 Citroen SM is being offered by BaT reader Jerry Hathaway, owner of SM World. The photos show his amazing level of restoration, and all his signature upgrades including rotating Euro headlights and RGP aluminum wheels. He says that this one has had 800 miles of tuning and tweaking since the restoration, and that it should go another 125k miles if driven properly. We wish we were the ones that could add all those miles. Find it here on Hemmings in Canyon Country, California for $149k.
One Owner: 15K Mile 1987 Toyota Corolla GT-S
This 1987 Toyota Corolla GT-S (VIN JT2AE88C7H0231324) features just 14k on the odometer and a host of dealer-installed TRD parts. Though now fitted with modern and slightly too-large Rota wheels and a slimmer JDM rear bumper, this claimed one-owner car is otherwise appears just as it should have in the late 1980’s. Find it here on eBay in Waxhaw, North Carolina for $19k OBO. Special thanks to BaT reader Taylor C. for this submission.
BaT Auction Success Story: Lotus Elise Heads to Florida
This just in from the seller of the 2005 Lotus Elise that he sold via BaT Auction two weeks ago as Lot #545 (link):
“BaT,
Attached are a couple pics of the 2005 Lotus on the way to new Owner, Gary M. in Jacksonville, FL…left my stable at 11am this morning.
The process went just fine. Had good contact with the Buyer right away after auction ended. He had a few questions which we took care of for him. He was flexible with me as I was out of town and not back til late last nite. Money was wired into my account this AM around 930 and his arranged transporter arrived for pick-up at 11AM…nice low slung hauler…no chin scraping!
I have another car I will probably list….actually one ya’ll covered back in 2008 off eBay, a 1961 Jaguar XK150 FHC that came out of 35 years storage in San Diego. I restored to a high level and have enjoyed. Time to consider selling…and find another project! Just comes down to setting proper reserve as we did on Lotus.
Congrats and hope you love it, Gary! Thanks BaT for a great transaction!
Pete S.”
Two Liter Swapped 1970 Alfa Romeo Junior Zagato
This 1970 Alfa Romeo Junior Zagato may have started life as a 1300, but is now fitted with a later two liter unit that should enhance its performance in a rather big way. Said to be rust-free, it’s not the cleanest or most attractively colored Junior Zagato we’ve ever seen but we approve of the engine swap and it’s lessened originality means it can be driven hard with a bit more peace of mind. Find it here on eBay in Battle, East Sussex, England for 29,995 GBP (~$45,600 today).
