South African Built Ford GT40 Replica
This Ford GT40 replica is a 2008 built Bailey which sounds to offer enough performance to embarrass many modern supercars. Maintained by one of its South African builders who has since relocated to the US, the car has under 700 miles since completion and features built-in air jacks. Not Quite Base: 361/Automatic 1966 Dodge Charger
This 1966 Dodge Charger (chassis XP29F61157682) is said to be all original and fully functional apart from A/C. Though not fitted with the most desirable engine and transmission combination, the 361 should provide a good soundtrack and easy torque. Find it here on eBay in Sauquoit, New York with a $12,500 BIN.
BaT Success Story: Friend Helps Finish the Datsun 1600 Roadster
This just in from the buyer of the 1966 Datsun 1600 Roadster in need of some finishing touches that we featured on BaT last year (link).
“Hello BaT,
Fifteen months later, I finally have the picture necessary to tell my success story. In July of last year, my friend in NC helped me bid and win the car shown in the link below. I had wanted a Datsun roaster since I was in high school and almost 40 years later I finally have it. I live in Waco, Texas so my pal went to Charlotte, about 60 miles from where we grew up and lived and he still lives and works, towed the car back to his aircraft maintenance facility and began tinkering with it. The car was as advertised but needed heater controls, a radio, and a few other odds and ends. The seats were recovered, new carpets were cut, an electric fuel pump was installed as were fog lights which the car was wired for from the factory; there is even a toggle switch that says fog lights on the dash.
