Front V6 and C4 Suspension: 1956 Volkswagen Beetle
This 1956 Volkswagen Beetle may look like a garden variety Cal-look oval window, but under the skin it features C4 Corvette suspension and a GM V6. Sitting over a tube chassis, this extensively modified Type I still appears well finished and streetable, unusual for such a wild build on the secondhand market. Find it here on Craigslist in Yamhill, Oregon for $24k. Special thanks to BaT reader Rick S. for this submission.
Mistu-Mopar: 1978 Dodge Challenger Survivor
This 1978 Dodge Challenger (chassis 2H29F87311052) is an unusually well-kept example of the Mitsubishi-based model. With half the cylinders of the first and latest generations to feature the name, it's said to run and drive well. We’ve seen a handful of these cars ever, and though rare when new, they’ve been nearly extinct for decades. Find this one here on eBay in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with reserve not met.
Three Time Le Mans Finisher: 2001 Saleen S7R GT1
This Saleen S7R GT1 (VIN IS9 AD11 E81 B55 1010/chassis No. 5) is a three-time Le Mans finisher now offered cleaned up with no livery. This impressive machine managed fifth/23rd overall in the GTS class for 2001 and 2002 and 28th overall in 2003. The car has extensive history outside of la Sarthe as well, and sale includes a big spares package. Find it here on eBay in Warrington, Cheshire, England for 425k GBP (~$644,500 USD today).
Factory Supercharged: 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Project
This 1957 Ford Skyliner has been sitting under a carport in Arizona since the mid 1980s, but was a daily driver before it was parked. Equipped with the optional Thunderbird Special 312ci V8 and Ford-o-matic 3-speed automatic transmission, mileage is claimed to be just 67,500. Find it here on Jalopy Journal in Tucson, Arizona for $10k.
