Bangle’s Best: 1996 Fiat Coupe 16V Turbo
This 1996 Fiat Coupe is one of about 73,000 built between 1993 and 2000. Famously styled by Chris Bangle, these cars show that the man was indeed capable of designing an attractive if still rather unconventional looking car. The European press had a lot of praise for this model when new, especially in turbocharged form like this example. Find it here on eBay in Toronto, Ontario, Canada for $15k OBO. Special thanks to BaT reader Lucas H. for this submission.
Final Year 5-Speed: 1995 Porsche 928 GTS
This Porsche 928 GTS is said to be one of just 30 5-speed manual equipped US examples built for the model’s final production year. Though sold with a rebuilt title due to theft, the seller says it was recovered without damage. Midnight Blue Metallic is a rare, special order color and looks great over navy and slate gray leather, while of course the 5-speed is our preferred transmission. Find it here on Craigslist in NYC for $44,900. Special thanks to BaT reader Corey A. for this submission.
See Where They Rust: 1969 Porsche 912
"See Where They Rust" is a series and category where we feature listings that do a particularly good job displaying where certain models tend to suffer from rust. We love looking for rust-free cars, but we have learned a ton about how to inspect the dry cars from looking at photos of heavily rusted models. Obviously floors and rocker panels are always at risk, but every model has different special areas where they corrode. We hope that this series is informative and helpful when you are verifying the claims of sellers and their "99% rust free" cars. -BaT
This 1969 Porsche 912 is offered by a seller who clearly has good sense of humor, referencing the car’s extensive corrosion as “a little rust here and there.” Said to be barely holding together with no floors, almost no rockers or tunnel, and more rust documented throughout, the seller suggests this car may be useful for parts. Find it here on eBay in Half Moon Bay, California with no reserve and three digit bidding at the time of writing. Special thanks to BaT reader Christian P. for this submission.
Giddy Up 409: 1961 Chevrolet Belair Bubbletop 4-Speed
This 1961 Chevrolet Bel Air bubbletop is a non numbers-matching car, as the 409 was first properly introduced for this model in ’62 with only a very limited number made for ’61. Nevertheless it appears to be an attractive driver-quality example, with a great big block and very serviceable cosmetics throughout. Find it here on Craigslist in Madison, North Carolina for $22k. Special thanks to BaT reader sasha3007 for this submission.
