Buff It Out: Kafkaesque 1967 Porsche 912
This 1967 Porsche 912 is reportedly matching-numbers, though at this point it’s hard to look at much of anything related to the car as a positive. Five years ago this car would have been sent off to the crusher without a second thought, but with Porsche prices going wild we’ve seen a steady stream of nightmarishly twisted wrecks offered for “restoration or parts”–this might just be the worst. Find it here at Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles, California for $4,950. Special thanks to BaT reader Brian M. for this submission.
Frua Coachbuilt One Off: 1973 Rolls Royce Phantom VI Drophead Coupe
This 1973 Rolls Royce Phantom VI (chassis PRX 4705) is believed to be a one-off Frua-penned and built example. Though far from what most would consider classically pretty, the car is nonetheless very interesting and even rather attractive from certain angles–the rear three quarter in particular. Details about the car’s history are short, but this only adds to our curiosity. Find it here on eBay in Grays, Essex, England for 500k GBP (~$762k USD today).
The Transporter’s Understudy: Supercharged 2001 BMW 740i M Sport
This 2001 BMW 740i (VIN WBAGG83451DN86029) is not a standard E38. Originally sold in Phoenix, Arizona, the first owner ensured all standard service intervals were performed at dealers. The seller purchased it from the original owner in 2006 with less than 26k miles, to which about 14k have been added since. The car then underwent inspection prior to the installation of a VF Engineering Vortech supercharger, which bumped power from 280 HP to 415. Find it here on eBay in Denver, Colorado with no reserve beyond an unmet $24,500 starting bid. Special thanks to BaT reader Alex M. for this submission.
Sunny Sky Soviet: 1956 Moskvitch 402 Convertible
This 1956 Moskvitch 402 is a bit of an enigma–while the seller writes as if this is a factory-made convertible, we have found no evidence to support that such a model ever existed. It is possible that it’s some sort of one-off show car, but evidence suggests it’s more likely a well-executed custom job. Find it here on Craigslist in Waltham, Massachusetts for $16,950. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
