Running V12 for $2K: 1991 BMW 850i
This 1991 BMW 850i has a high 192k miles and scruffy cosmetics, but the seller says that it runs strongly and can be driven despite a leaking automatic trans. There could be a lot of life left in this car, but it’s almost certain to need quite a lot of work to be made reliable. True, pillarless 12-cylinder coupes aren’t easy to find for the price of a beater Corolla, but it’d be best if the next owner went into this project with their eyes–and wallet–fully open. Find it here on Craigslist in Bellevue, Washington $2k.
Chased Porsches for a Living: Ex-CHP 1985 Ford Mustang SSP
This 1985 Ford Mustang SSP was reportedly restored to in-service specification, and photos show what looks like very good condition. Described as a genuine California Highway Patrol car, documentation is included, along with a period highway patrol uniform. The 5-speed trans is a plus, and other special equipment from the factory included beefed up floor pans, increased cooling capacity, a heavy duty alternator and more. Find it here on Craigslist in Clearwater, Florida for $16,500.
77 of 100: 1965 Gordon Keeble
This 1965 Gordon Keeble is chassis number 77 of 100 built over a four year period, and the seller describes it as being in very good, but not concours condition following an “extensive, sympathetic body-off restoration” dating to 2014. Originally a 4-speed car, its correct Chevy 327 is now backed by a 3-speed automatic, but factory pedals needed to revert to manual shifting are included. Find it here on Car and Classic in Langport, Somerset, England for 82k GBP (~$101k USD today). Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
Ready for Restoration: 1972 Porsche 911 T
This 1972 Porsche 911 T is fresh out of long-term storage, and as such it’s a bit scruffy looking. The seller says it’s solid however, and provides good photos from underneath and above with carpets removed. Its correct MFI 2.4 reportedly has low miles following rebuild, and original black leatherette covered seats still look good. Find it here on Craigslist in San Francisco for $39,500. Special thanks to BaT reader PGN for this submission.
