Running $1000 Nightmare Project: 1980 Porsche 928
This 1980 Porsche 928 was purchased by the seller as a non-runner in summer of last year, and though still mighty rough, they’ve valiantly battled a nightmarish looking tangle of wiring and electrical faults and now have it running again. Realistically, this one’s a parts car, but you could always stuff it away for 20 years at which point things might be very different. Find it here on Craigslist in Hercules, California for $1k OBO.
Bargain Supercharged: Unmodified 1988 Toyota MR2
This 1988 Toyota MR2 is a relatively rare supercharged model that’s described by the seller as original, unmodified, garaged and mechanically fit. Also said to have just passed smog, the seller notes a new clutch, tires and a recent, major tuneup. If truly as nice as claimed, this one won’t last long. Find it here on Craigslist in Chino, California for $5,850.
Mostly Restored 1959 Maserati 3500GT
This 1959 Maserati 3500GT has been partially restored, and though initial impressions suggest otherwise, most of the hard work sounds to have already been completed. Originally delivered to Pennsylvania, the car was re-imported to Italy in 1992 and subsequently refurbished in France. From what we gather, the car has been sitting awaiting final assembly ever since, with restoration work having included extensive metal repair, rebuilt mechanicals (including the lovely twin cam straight six) and even new wiring. Find it here on eBay in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England for 135k GBP (~$193k USD today) OBO. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
Rare Multipla Variant: 1960 Fiat 600T “Coriasco”
This 1960 Fiat Multipla is a rare “Coriasco” six-seat passenger version of the 600T van. We’ve never seen one before, and haven’t had much look in researching production numbers or other hard info. Still, it’s unquestionably an interesting little van, with a very different, relatively square rear end lending a mini-VW Type 2 vibe from the back. Find it here on mobile.de in Terni, Italy for 5k euros (~$5,400 USD today). Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
