1959 GMC 1/2 ton NAPCO 4X4

GMC Other 1 2 Ton | eBay

This 1959 GMC 1/2 ton pickup (chassis 1028PS16701A) doesn’t come with a lot of extra information, but it is claimed to be a great running example that should be capable of being enjoyed immediately with only minor sorting needed. NAPCO and General Motors parted ways in 1960, so this great-looking rig represents one of the last available before the end of outsourced four-wheel-drive systems by the Big Three. As was common with these trucks, it is fitted from the factory with a PTO-driven winch, along with that upgraded suspension and drive line package. Find it here on eBay in Scottsdale, Arizona with reserve not met.

BaT Auction Success Story: Chrysler CD-8 Deluxe Delivered

IMG_2332-1

This just in from the seller of the 1931 Chrysler CD-8 Deluxe Roadster that sold via BaT Auctions last month (link).

My ‘Bring a Trailer’ experience was top notch. The process of advertising this special car was a dilemma. Having been following various cars on the BaT web site for years, I decided to take a chance and list it on BaT. The assistance I received from BaT staff was more than expected. We developed an excellent description and selected a large amount of appropriate pictures to attach to the listing. Selling the car was part of an estate sale.

The response was excellent, with mostly very positive comments and then the bids began coming in. Finally, at the end of the specified period two individuals seemed to be bidding against one another, however, a buyer finally won out. I have had numerous email exchanges with him and now have a new friend. He is as excited to now have the Chrysler as our family is to pass it on to a new and good ‘home.’

Transport was delayed due to a number of auctions going on at the time. Finally the car was picked up and delivered (rather than a picture of the car leaving, the attached picture is of the car being delivered to the new owner). Both he and I were new to selling and buying a car via the BaT site, but it couldn't have gone any smoother. During the delay in transport I found a number of ‘extra’ parts in storage (transmission, rear end gears, axles, window glass, carburetor, etc) and have forwarded them to the new owner. He's been traveling and wasn't present for delivery, but promises to contact me as soon as he sees the car.

Black Plate Project: 409/4-Speed 1958 Impala Sport Coupe

409-4-Speed-1958-Chevrolet-Impala-Sport-Coupe-for-sale-Rear-Three-Quarter

This 1958 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe features a 409/4-speed combo sourced from a '63 SS Convertible. No time frame of the swap is given but the car sounds like a nice driver that remains presentable despite its tired paint and interior. Additional upgrades listed include new 4-wheel discs and Flowmaster mufflers, though the latter appear to be older installations. Find it here on eBay in Camarillo, California with reserve met.

Brazilian born VW: 1980 Puma GTI

Volkswagen Other Puma | eBay

This 1980 Puma GTI (VIN 8994ICA) represents the line of cars that were manufactured in Brazil following Volkswagen’s purchase of DKW-Vemag. Virtually no useful information is contained in the ad, but a good sense of the condition can be gleaned from the accompanying photos. These fiberglass-bodied cars are inherently handsome with their mini roof buttresses and Ferrari Dino-ish noses, but they suffered from sub-par build quality and poor market timing. That being said, they are still pretty cool cars, and are rare finds here. Find it here on eBay in Emeryville, California with a BIN of $4,500 or best offer.
