Mystery Car Hauler: 1950 COE & Four ’56 Chevys
This 1950 Chevrolet cab over engine truck is sold with a car-hauling trailer and four ’56 Chevys. All are very rusty, but it’s hard not to be fascinated by this sale. The seller doesn’t provide any backstory, but we’re sure it was interesting, even if it’s been lost to time. The trailer is a 1949 Whitehead & Kales, carrying a four-door hardtop, two-door sedan, and two, four-door posts. Find them all here on eBay in Wilson, North Carolina with no reserve beyond an unmet $15k starting bid.
Rare in North America: 18K Mile 1990 Alpine GTA Turbo
This 1990 Alpine GTA (chassis D501210J) is one of about 7,300 hand built between 1984 and 1995, for which the final five years or production the model was renamed the A610. A desirable LHD turbo model, this one has just 28k kilometers (~17k miles) from new, and its handsome composite body and funky, 80’s overload cabin still present quite nicely. Find it here on eBay in Toronto, Canada for $27,900 CAD (~$21k USD today) OBO.
Supercharged 6-Speed Swap: 2003 BMW 540i Touring
This 2003 BMW 540i Touring has been highly modified by the seller, including installation of a 6-speed manual and VF Engineering Supercharger kit. The former was never offered in a V8 E39 wagon, and the latter should give the 4.4 liter slightly more power than the 4.9 from the same chassis M5. This color is also quite handsome, and the car looks well-kept inside and out. Find it here on Craigslist in Atlanta, Georgia for $18k.
One Owner $56K 1982 Ferrari 308 GTSi
This 1982 Ferrari 308 GTSi is described as a 40k mile, one owner, matching-numbers car in strong running condition. Sold with records and the original tool roll, the car looks good in red over black, though exterior photos are limited. Still, what’s shown of the interior seems to suggest that the car is in nice shape, adding some weight to the claimed low mileage as well. Find it here on Craigslist in Lodi, California for $55,900.
