Former Museum Car: Claimed 13K Mile 1976 AMC Hornet Sportabout
This 1976 AMC Hornet Sportabout wagon (chassis A6A087E108422) is described as original with slightly over 13k miles from new. Though it spent some years in a Michigan museum, the seller says that it runs, shifts, and brakes well. These cars were once ubiquitous, but have been virtually extinct for decades, and this one looks impressively well-preserved inside and out. Find it here on eBay in Gurnee, Illinois for $6,500 OBO. Special thanks to BaT reader AMF for this submission.
One of 12: Incredible 1992 AMG Hammer Coupe 6.0
This 1992 Mercedes Benz 300CE 6.0 AMG is said to be one of only 12 widebody Hammer coupes built. The car looks incredible from every angle, and 77k kilometers on the odometer works out to just under 48,000 miles. Porsche-built 500E’s are cool, Hammer sedans are dream cars, but this pillarless, 375 HP coupe is simply on another plane. Find it here on Autoleitner in Alkmaar, Netherlands for 149,500 euros (~$164k USD today). Special thanks to BaT reader Gooffer for this submission.
Super Rare & Beautifully Restored: Uncut 1940 Willys Truck
This 1940 Willys Truck (chassis 44043413) was the subject of a full restoration using NOS and other hard-to-find parts. Finished in 2013, the little truck looks great in Regina Gray with Blue Defender trim. Exceedingly rare in unmodified, uncut condition, this one has somehow avoided being chopped up for drag duty. Find it here on eBay in Gainesville, Georgia with reserve not met.
No Hippies: 1967 Dodge A100 Custom Sportsman Camper
This 1967 Dodge A100 Custom Sportsman camper is a 318ci V8 and automatic transmission-equipped example. Said to run strong and drive well, the interior features a fridge, faucet (but no sink), table, bed, lots of storage, and of course the fiberglass and fabric pop-top seen below. Condition looks quite decent throughout, and the “no hippies” sticker on one of the rear windows is almost worth the price of admission alone. Find it here on eBay in Bettendorf, Iowa with no reserve beyond an unmet $10k starting bid.
