Cannonball Run Tribute: 1978 Dodge B200 Sportsman Van
This 1978 Dodge B200 Sportsman van in Transcon Medi-Vac livery replicates the one driven by Brock Yates in the Cannonball Baker Sea-To-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash, and again by Burt Reynolds’ team in the ’81 Cannonball Run movie that he wrote. Though cosmetic details are mostly accurate, its V8 is not a Bill Mitchell-modified, Dick Landy 440 Magnum, but rather a standard 360–still, it should sound good through Flowmaster pipes. Find it here on eBay in Murfreesboro, Tennessee with reserve not met.
Nicest Yet: 1972 Puma 1600 GTE
This 1972 Puma 1600 GTE (chassis SP1431404) is an excellent-looking example that represents the last year of this bodystyle before introduction of a new design. Bought by the current owner as a complete car, it’s since been stripped down to the chassis and undergone a complete rebuild by a marque specialist. Current running condition isn’t noted, but the car is said to retain all of its factory parts. Find it here at Auctions America where it will be auctioned in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on April 1st, 2016. Estimated hammer prices range between $10k-15k.
Rare & All Original Rotary: 9K Mile 1976 Hercules W-2000 Wankel
This 1976 Hercules W-2000 (serial 480005185) is one of 1,800 built in Germany between 1974 and ’77. One of only a handful of production Wankel rotary engine-powered motorcycle designs, this one is said to be all-original with 8,550 miles from new, and it looks quite well-preserved in photos. The seller adds that it starts very easily, and runs and rides like new. Find it here on eBay in Chicago, Illinois with reserve not met. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
42nd From Last Built: 4K Mile 2003 Lotus Esprit Final Edition
This 2003 Lotus Esprit V8 Turbo (VIN SCCDC08203HA10579) is one only 75 Final Edition cars built, and the seller claims only 4k miles from new. These run-out models featured several small styling detail changes over regular production models, as well as more substantial upgrades such as a factory-fit “high-torque” ECU, ride height-adjustable Bilstein dampers, special Eibach springs, and more. If VIN numbers were consecutive, this feature on the very last Esprit built suggests that this example is the 42nd from final made, out of a total, 28 year-long production run of 10,675. Find it here on eBay in Mount Kisco, New York with reserve not met.
