Rare 5-Speed/4.0: 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee
This 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee (VIN 1J4GZ58S4PC517456) is a first-year model equipped with a very rare factory 5-speed manual. Low uptake meant that what’s estimated to be only several hundred three-pedal examples were built before cancellation in 1994, and this example looks to be in nice driver shape with 166k miles reported. Find it here on Craigslist in Albuquerque, New Mexico for $4,500. Special thanks to BaT reader Eugene A. for this submission.
V6 Volvorod: S-10 Based 1963 PV544
This 1963 Volvo PV544 (chassis 124717) sits on a shortened 80’s Chevy S-10 chassis, with some other mechanical parts swapped over including the donor truck’s V6 and 4-speed manual gearbox. Described as a “rat rod” with a carefully weathered patina and aircraft-inspired (read: largely bare metal) interior treatment, the car is surprisingly good looking in its own way, and the seller adds that the V6 runs well–we’d use it as a placeholder for a small V8. Find it here on eBay in McAllen, Texas with an $8k BIN.
348/4-Speed & Two-Stroke Four: 1959 Chevrolet Brookwood & Milo Craft Runabout
This 1959 Chevrolet Brookwood (chassis A59S310412) is said to be show quality, and comes with a 1957 Milo Craft wood runabout on its own trailer. Looking fully restored, the wagon wears Gothic Gold paint with a white roof. The interior is especially impressive, featuring a tri-tone treatment that really pops. The wagon is motivated by a tri-power 348ci V8 backed by a 4-speed, while the boat appears to be equipped with a 40 horse, two-stroke Mercury Mark-55 Thunderbolt Four. This seems like the perfect package deal for a lake getaway next summer. Find it here on eBay in Orlando, Florida for $57,500 OBO.
$2200 Two-Stroke Project: 1965 Saab 96
This 1965 Saab 96 is a sought-after two-stroke triple equipped example that’s said to have originally come from California. Though purchased by the Canadian seller in Washington state, they claim that its West Coast residency has kept rust at a minimum, though admit that as a 50+ year-old project “there’s bound to be some.” Still, the car looks largely complete and very workable, and though now partially disassembled (though not opened up), the seller says its engine was running prior to the beginning of work for which they don’t have the time to finish. Find it here on Craigslist in Ladysmith, BC, Canada for $2,200 USD. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
