"First, a bit of Mr. Know-it-all-man-ship. I believe that this car is not Manila Beige, but Colorado Beige (470—see ID plate). I own a Manila Beige (681) 240D and this one is clearly not the same colour as mine. Manila Beige is that oh-so-common light-and-cheerful yellow—50-gallon drums of which I'm convinced were purchased by Mercedes as it was sprayed over entire fleets of their cars at a time. By Sopwith Camel cropdusters perhaps.
