"The faux bumper exhaust vents are not faux...that is OEM through-the-bumper exhaust. This changed in '58, but functional bumper outlets date back to 1954.
Most changed the pipes to turn-downs in order to cut back on bumper rust/rot due to condensation. GM did it for them in '58.
The transmission in these, the original Hydramatic...yep, a four-speed...dates back to 1939.
