Yes...the GM Hydra-matic was legendary both on the road and...off...as it was "the" automatic in the beginning of automatics.
It became famous during WW2 as it was used in the Stuart tank - mated to a Cadillac flathead V-8 and installed in twin configuration - one for each track.
So how did a GM transmission end up in a Lincoln?
