It takes both kinds of owners...the cream puffers enable the drivers. I got my Ur Quattro, one owner—a surgeon bought it new for his wife and "she didn't like driving stick"—with 14k miles on it in 1994 (I misspoke when I said early 2000s in my earlier post) for $10k from a dealership in Madison, WI. (People in WI didn't understand why the dealer was asking $14,000 for a TEN-YEAR-OLD CAR. God bless their lil hearts.)
