January 1989, I was employed by Volvo Cars North America, and LONG story short, I found myself at the Bertone factory in Italy, as the Volvo 780 was being manufactured there. Got the behind-the-scenes tour from Roine Lundin, Volvo's man-on-the-ground.

Four very different vehicles were moving down the same assembly line: the Volvo 780, the Opel Kadett Cabriolet, the Bertone (Fiat) X1/9, and the Lamborghini Jalpa. Mr. Lundin…"
