"All those posting here bemoaning the lack of power from the 2.8 liter PRV V6 engine (130 hp) need to remember that the contemporary '81 Mustang's larger displacement 3.3 liter V6 made a pathetic 91 hp. The "performance" 4.2 liter V8 made a thoroughly unimpressive 115 hp. The 4.4 liter V8 in the Camaro made only 120 hp.
Pretty much all cars with sporting pretensions in that period were dogs in the power department. Kinda unfair IMHO to slam the Delorean for its lack of horsepower when it was…"
