Reminds me of the night I flew copilot as my brother raced his 100/4 up Deer Creek Canyon in the foothills outside of Denver. Death appeared imminent at every turn. Don't recall what Roy was so angry about while the engine howled and the headlights slashed across stone walls and fleeting guardrails, but I clung to the armrest and to the hope that somewhere among the cold stars some warm spirit looked down upon us.
