"This is a very nicely done rally- inspired XR4Ti. I was a young man working for the Lincoln Mercury Merkur Division when the XR4Ti was introduced in 1985 (and yes, that was Lincoln Mercury's official name while the Merkur was sold in the US from 1985-1989).
