"The hardest call I have ever had to make wasn't actually a call but an in person conversation I had with my dad. Dad was an amazing person and at 85 was still working as a consulting engineer for a company that built mass spectrometers; he said working kept him young. Sadly, he was diagnosed with stage IV prostate cancer and was given 2 months to live and I was the person who got to deliver this awful news. It tore my heart out to tell him something which would make him give up hope but…"
