This 1988 BMW M5 has been largely restored, but with a great emphasis placed on substantial upgrades. In this case, the S38 mill has been replaced with an S54 engine out of an M3, and is paired with a matching ZF 6-speed transmission. The rust-free body was repainted in 2011, and the seller includes several pictures from the restoration that gives a good reflection of the work involved. Euro bumpers look great, and even though we don't love the M-Tech body kits, we are thrilled that the most terrible side skirts were omitted. Many buyers worry about S38 rebuild costs, and we love the prospect of this swap, with more power and an extra gear, a likely less cost than a stock rebuild. Find this one here on eBay in Dublin, California.
