Our BaT Auction #2 closed yesterday with very active bidding and positive results (link). Thanks so much to everyone who bid, watched, commented, and gave us feedback on how to improve! Server speed issues were substantially decreased, but we still had some latency issues and Internet Explorer viewers were having particular trouble. We are working on the remaining issues as we speak, and are excited that system performance next week will be even better. Be sure to check out the new, better photo gallery format and improved Watcher alerts. We are also very excited to reveal the cars in this week's auction! The headliner is a car that is famous around here, Mr Vespa's Alfa Romeo Giulia SS. We also have German, British, and American offerings at a variety of price points, with very good info and photos provided by the sellers. We are having fun putting these together, and very much appreciate the great submissions. We also value your feedback, so keep it coming here in the comments or via email. This 1977 Alfa Romeo Montreal has been fitted with a custom Targa panel for open-top motoring by a previous owner. We're intrigued by the idea of a removable roof, and happily the car retains a close to stock appearance when closed, all while keeping those distinctive B-pillar vents. With pristine examples beginning to trade for north of six figures, cars like this are soon going to be the only way to affordably own a Montreal. Find it here on eBay in Hamburg, Germany with a $45,000 BIN. Click here to read more... |
This 1971 Volvo 1800E (Chassis 0184353034594) is said to have spent over a decade slumbering in a barn when it was purchased at an estate sale. Despite the long rest, the seller states that the car started right up and ran well with new fluids and some cleaning. Claimed rust-free, the car was then given a partial restoration which included new paint, upholstery and some mechanical work as well. We love this color combination, and the seller's photograph--both in terms of quality and quantity of shots--leaves most listings in the dust. Find it here on eBay in Portland, Oregon with reserve not met approaching the end of bidding. Click here to read more... | Also new on Bring a Trailer:
