BaT Auction #22: Now Open for Bidding! Yesterday we saw lively bidding across all eight cars with very active comments. We're excited to announce the next round of BaT Auction offerings - we think this week has one of the best groups of sports and touring cars listed thus far. The 1973 Porsche 911T is a silver/black sunroof coupe that has been upgraded with a 3.2L engine from an '86 Carrera. A restored 1965 Morgan Plus Four is offered out of the Netherlands from a long-time Morgan enthusiast. A 2001 BMW M Roadster features the desirable and potent S54 engine and has just 28k miles on the clock. The 1966 Austin Mini is a Mk1 model with many nice upgrades. A 1963 Buick Skylark convertible is optioned with a V8 and floor-shift 4-speed. A 1981 Mercedes-Benz 300CD has 63k original miles from new and is very clean. The 1971 MGB is a factory overdrive car with new interior and several unique upgrades. Finally, a 1985 Mercedes-Benz 500SEL is a clean Euro model being sold without reserve. Click here to read more...   Freewheeling: 1970 Saab 99 This 1970 Saab 99 (chassis 99028478) looks like a good driver and is said to have performed reliably during use as a daily driver as recently as 2013. Further described as rust free and all original excluding a respray in the factory original color, these early, 1.75 liter cars retained Saab's signature freewheeling clutch and are full of quirky but intelligent details that make us love pre-GM Trollhattan products. Click here to read more...   Backwards Wanderer: 1936 Audi UW 225 Front Wheel Drive This 1936 Audi Front UW 225 (chassis 9454) is a sedan variant of the larger engined successor to what was Europe's first large front wheel drive car, the UW 220 (1933-'34). Sold until 1938, about 4,500 were built though apparently few remain—this is the first we've ever seen for sale and were only vaguely aware of the model's existence before researching for this story.
