Bring a Trailer Daily Mail

This 1957 Packard Clipper Wagon is claimed by the seller to be one of 836 built and a factory McCulloch supercharged 289 V8 car. Another source says 869. Photos show a complete looking car, but surprisingly no engine shot is included. An amazingly restored example sold for $60k+ at RM in 2011 (link). Find it here on Craigslist in Chatanooga, Tennessee for $5k. Special thanks to BaT reader M R. for this submission.

This just in from the buyer of the 1961 GMC Pick-Up sold via BaT Auctions in December (link). The seller's initial Success Story was here, and the road trip from Oregon to Massachusetts has now commenced, with the first two reports and galleries below:

"Good morning BaT.

The road trip began Friday, May 15. We picked up the truck from Charlie and Harvey, the 2 mechanics in Central Point, OR that have been going over the GMC. New brakes on the rear, new fuel pump, compression check on the engine, pressure check the radiator, check the grease in the rear end and the tranny. Grease the front end, repack the wheel bearings. The list was basic.

We had a short drive down to Medford Friday night. Up early Saturday morning for a 6:30 start. 472 miles from Medford, OR to Caldwell, ID. The truck ran well. Top speed was about 60... 65 downhill with a tailwind. MPG has settled in at 13. We took state highway 66 over the pass to Klamath Falls, then 140, US 395 and US 20 to Ontario, OR. Short hop down I-84 to Caldwell, ID. Spending tonight with friends in Caldwell, celebrating a 69th birthday.

Attached are a few pictures from Day 1. I'll have another update tomorrow night. The target for Sunday is Laramie, WY. 710 miles.

Happy Trails,
Matt F."

This 1973 BMW 2002 (chassis 2586395) is a very clean Inka Orange non-sunroof car that was restored to mostly period spec and wears turbo flares. The car looks very clean in the engine bay, interior, and trunk, and the underside it said to be recently refinished. This one is a terrific entry point for someone not wed to factory wheel arches. Find it here on Craigslist in Medford, Oregon for $13,900 obo. Special thanks to BaT reader Brian F. for this submission.
