Our 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta TI project continues! We have gone deeper than we wanted to, so not only have we scoured the underside of the car, we've also had to cut out some rusty metal. This development has set back the schedule somewhat and caused us to miss an event in April, but we are booked for the MotherLode 400 event in June, which we have never done and are very excited to attend. This just in from the buyer of the 1961 GMC Pick-Up sold via BaT Auctions in December (link). The seller's initial Success Story was here, and the road trip from Oregon to Massachusetts has now commenced. Part I is here and Part II is below:
"Good evening BaT.
Day 2 ended on a high note. My brother came up from Colorado and met us at the hotel in Rawlins with several chilled beverages. Dinner at Buck's Sports Grill, and a good night's sleep.
Day 3 started cold in Rawlins, WY. 38 degrees and foggy. Pulled out about 6:45, headed east. Our escort followed us for the first thirty miles, then pulled off for a great action shot. This 1928 Riley 9 started life as a standard production example, however we're unable to determine if the so-called San Diego model was a small two door saloon or a roadster variation. Converted at an unspecified point in the past into Brooklands spec, it features a tapered, shortened frame and new, handbuilt aluminum bodywork.
