This 1940 Cadillac is said to be one of 15 convertibles produced in 1940, though little else is said about the claim and a specific model isn't listed. We suspect it's most likely a Series 62. Until recently, the car was in storage for 20 years due to body damage which the seller has since fixed and has also performed quite a bit of mechanical sorting including returning the car to running condition with new brakes. Included in the sale is a donor 1940 Cadillac Sedan that the seller describes as a good source for straight body panels and parts. Find it here on Craigslist in Dallas, Texas for $15k. Click here to read more... | Current BaT Auction - Ends Wednesday, June 24, 2015 "See Where They Rust" is a series and category where we feature listings that do a particularly good job displaying where certain models tend to suffer from rust. We love looking for rust-free cars, but we have learned a ton about how to inspect the dry cars from looking at photos of heavily rusted models. Obviously floors and rocker panels are always at risk, but every model has different special areas where they corrode. We hope that this series is informative and helpful when you are verifying the claims of sellers and their "99% rust free" cars. -BaT
This 1971 Datsun 510 is missing both its engine and interior and was last registered in 2002. Aptly described as a project car, it's a rough but has yet to reach the more advanced stages of decay. Most of the external rust seems to be of the surface variety, and its underpinnings are described as being "solid." Find it here on Craigslist in Palmdale, California for $2,400. Special thanks to BaT reader Ed T. for this submission.

Very little information is provided, though it's immediately clear that anyone embarking on a resto will have their work cut out for them. Still, these are great little cars and the relatively low price means it might make sense for someone with a love of Alpina and more ambition than cash. Find it here on Craigslist in Jacksonville, Florida for $7k. Special thanks to BaT reader Eric B. for this submission.

The Alpina treatment is purely cosmetic, albeit pretty well executed and nearly complete--too bad the stock M30B25 and automatic don't have the bark to match its visual bite. Time for an S54/6-speed swap? Find it here on eBay in Corona, California for $12k OBO. Special thanks to BaT reader Charlie K. for this submission.
