Today we completed another full day of driving to finish off the 2015 Motherlode 400. The route took us from Auburn, California to our current location in the town of Murphys. One of the early morning segments was on a stretch called Mosquito Ridge Road that is one of the most amazing roads we have ever driven. The day also saw an amazing run through a forest scorched by fire not long ago, an 8000+ ft. pass, one major dam crossing, a re-route due to an active forest fire, and much more. The event concluded with a very nice wine cave dinner for the entire group here in this small mining turned wine country town followed by a lively night swapping stories in the local hotel bar built in 1856. Though the Grantura range formed the basis for Griffith's infamous V8 widow makers, we like the simplicity of these four cylinder, B-series equipped models. Bodywork, structure and mechanics are said to be in very good condition, and both exterior and interior cosmetics appear to be quite nice as well.
