Ex-Gordon Spice: 1979 Ford Capri Group 1 Racer
This 1979 Ford Capri (chassis CC10) is an ex Gordon Spice/CC Racing Developments car that is said to have been dominant in period Group 1 racing. Now restored to its original Group 1 spec and livery, the car sounds track-ready and is further believed to have served as the inspiration for a Corgi model. Find it here at Silverstone Auctions who will offer the car as lot 218 at Silverstone on July 23rd, 2015. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
Japanese Gangster: 28k Mile 1988 Nissan President in the USA
This 1988 Nissan President is said to be in excellent condition with only 28k miles from new. Similar to the Toyota Century, these OHV V8 powered cars were built to order and in limited numbers for successful business people, politicians and just as frequently for gangsters. Packed full of cutting edge 80’s luxury features, we think it’s a lot of car for the money despite potential supply chain issues explained further below. Find it here on Japanese Nostalgic Car (login required) in Hillsboro, Oregon for $6,900.
Sixteen Inches Ground Clearance: 1975 Volvo C303
This 1975 Volvo TGB11/C303 is said to be in very good running order, the seller adding that in 30 years of off-roading it’s most capable climber they’ve ever encountered. Power comes form the truck’s original three liter B30 straight six, and thanks in large part to portal axles, ground clearance is an impressive 16″ under the differentials. Find it here on Government Liquidation in Auburn, California with an unmet $25 starting bid and additional reserve.
